Can Foreigners Get Married in Margaret River?

Absolutely! In fact, I've had the privilege of marrying a couple who travelled all the way from the Outer Hebrides of Scotland because they dreamed of getting married on a beach in beautiful Margaret River.

What are the requirements?

The legal requirements are surprisingly straightforward. To get married in Australia, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old.

• Not already be legally married.

• Not be closely related.

• Lodge a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) at least one month before your wedding date.

If you're overseas, that's not a problem. I can guide you through the paperwork before you travel so everything is ready for your arrival.

Do we need to be in Australia beforehand?

No. You don't need to live in Australia or spend weeks here before your wedding.

Many of my overseas couples complete most of the planning from home using email and video calls. Once you arrive in Margaret River, all that's left is to relax and enjoy your wedding day.
