Why Every Outdoor Wedding in Margaret River Needs a Backup Plan

Margaret River outdoor wedding backup plan

Dreaming of tying the knot amidst Margaret River’s stunning landscapes? An outdoor wedding here is unforgettable, but the region’s weather can be unpredictable. A backup plan ensures your big day goes smoothly.

Here’s how to prepare:

  • Be Sun Smart

Margaret River’s sunny skies can be intense. Offer shaded areas with umbrellas or marquees, and provide sunscreen and fans to keep guests comfortable during your ceremony.

  • Prepare for Rain

Weather can turn quickly, so an undercover option like a tent, marquee, or nearby indoor venue is essential. This ensures the celebration continues seamlessly, rain or shine.

  • Manage the Breezes

Strong afternoon breezes are common here. Secure your décor, opt for heavier table settings, and choose wind-friendly hairstyles. Consider blankets or wraps to keep guests warm if the breeze picks up.

A backup plan isn’t about expecting bad weather; it’s about being ready for anything. With a little preparation, your Margaret River wedding will be as magical as you’ve dreamed, no matter what the day brings!

Do You Love your Dog as Much as I Love Mine?

Do You Love Your Dog?

If you're anything like me, your dog is not just a pet; they’re family! So why not include your furry friend in your wedding ceremony? As long as your pup knows how to behave, I’m all for it!

There’s a wealth of inspiration online about bringing your pooch to the party, but here’s the golden rule: make sure you have one trusted person to keep them in check. We don’t want a situation where you’re cleaning up doggy doo instead of saying, “I do!”

Imagine the adorable photo ops: your dog walking down the aisle, wearing a cute bowtie or floral collar. Just make sure your pup doesn’t steal the spotlight—or the cake! With a little planning and a lot of love, your wedding can be pawsitively perfect!

I love dogs, so if you're thinking about including your pup in your wedding, I'm all for it! There's nothing sweeter than having your four-legged friend by your side on the big day.

First off, make sure your dog is well-behaved and accustomed to crowds. If your pup is more likely to run laps around the guests than pose for photos, you might want to rethink their starring role. Or, at least, give them a supporting part where a "sit" and "stay" command won't be too much to ask.

And trust me, you’ll need a dedicated handler—seriously, assign someone you trust to keep your dog in check so you're not chasing them down the aisle or dealing with unexpected "presents"…let’s be real—dogs get excited, and you definitely don't want to be the one cleaning up Doggy Do instead of saying "I Do." Also, if you’re planning on getting married in public spaces, you’ll be obliged to keep your poochmaid on a leash. And remember, pooches are not allowed in the region’s National Parks, so keep that in mind when choosing your location.

Ultimately, if your dog is part of your family, it makes perfect sense to have them there as part of your big day. Just make sure you plan ahead so it's all fun and no stress. And hey, if the worst thing that happens is your dog steals the show with some adorable antics, well, at least they’ll be cute doing it!

P.S. Don't forget the bow tie or flower crown—because if your dog is going to be in your wedding photos, they should look fabulous too!

A Weather Guide to Outdoor Weddings in Margaret River

Margaret River parkland ideal for outdoor weddings in autumn

Margaret River is a breathtaking destination for outdoor weddings, with each season offering its own unique charm. If you're planning a spring wedding, you'll be treated to lush greenery and flowing creeks. However, it’s important to note that spring can be unpredictable, with the last of the winter rains making surprise appearances.

Summer, as expected, is stunning, but be prepared for heat and potentially windy afternoons. Ensure you have plenty of shade to keep your guests comfortable.

One of the region's best-kept secrets is the beauty of autumn. March is a particularly magical time, with windless, mild days and cool, crisp nights. It's the perfect balance before the rains return in mid-April, making it an ideal window for outdoor celebrations.

Whether it's spring, summer, or autumn, Margaret River’s stunning landscapes make it a memorable backdrop for any outdoor wedding—just keep the season in mind when planning…and always have a back-up plan in case the weather takes a turn for the worse!

Thinking about getting married in Margaret River? Scope It Out First!

It all begins with an idea.

If you’re thinking of getting married in the stunning Margaret River outdoors, here’s a tip – make sure you take a trip down here before the big day! The natural beauty is unbeatable, but you want to be sure your chosen location is not only picture-perfect but also accessible for all your guests.

Sure, that hidden beach or forest clearing might look magical, but do you really want Grandma scaling rocks or Uncle Bob trekking through the bush in his best suit? 😅 Make sure your spot is as easy to reach as it is beautiful!

Plan smart, and your guests will be singing your praises (instead of gasping for air) during your ceremony. 😄
